V-ball world champs qualifiers set for Feb

The final round of the 2014 FIVB Men World Championships qualifiers for Africa is scheduled for February 14 to 24 in Cameroon, Egypt and Tunisia,  respectively. Rwanda and Kenya are the two regional countries that made it to the last stage.

The final round of the 2014 FIVB Men World Championships qualifiers for Africa is scheduled for February 14 to 24 in Cameroon, Egypt and Tunisia,  respectively. Rwanda and Kenya are the two regional countries that made it to the last stage.The final round has 15 countries divided into three pools, and only one team from each of the three pools will qualify to represent Africa in Poland from September 3 to 21. Rwanda’s team will start training next week on Monday, a month before heading to Cameroon.According to the head coach Paul Bitok, the team starts preparations on January 13 at Amahoro indoor stadium. The provisional squad will be announced on Friday. Rwanda is drawn in the same Pool with Gabon, Algeria, Nigeria and hosts Cameroon.African champions Egypt will host another Pool that also includes; Kenya, Botswana, Cape Verde and Zambia while the remaining Pool, which consists of Seychelles, Niger, Senegal, Congo Brazzaville and hosts Tunisia.Rwanda qualified for the final round of the qualifiers after finishing first runners-up behind giants Egypt in the FIVB-Africa Zone five championships staged in Kigali last year from November 25 to 30. Kenya qualified as second runners-up.
