In what could turn out to be a new trend in the music industry, the local artiste has released a personalised calendar for the year 2014 featuring different photos of her in different outfits. The rapper who is known for her strong views on Africa released the calendar donning different African print attires as well as the traditional Rwandan dress Umushanana. The Tumabavuga singer said the calendar is a gift to her fans who made her stand out in 2013 when she launched her career as a rapper and went on to gain popularity."I would have been nothing without my fans. If they hadn’t appreciated what I do, no one would know who I am. The calendar is a gift to my fans. It is like an album, you have different photos of me and a calendar to help you plan your days,” the upcoming rapper said.Ciney partnered with Inco Fashion house owned by one of Rwanda’s youngest fashion designers Colombe Ituze to put together the colourful calendar which also highlights the rappers birthday. It is available in Simba Supermarket at Rwf5, 000.It is common for big artistes in developed countries to produce a line of personalised products for their ardent fans to indulge in. It is however unheard of among Rwandan artistes who earn from gigs and appearances at weddings.Apart from Ciney, Riderman is the other Rwandan artiste who has ventured in producing products for his label Ibisumizi. Thanks to his loyal fan club, the T-shirts, caps, hoods, bandanas and arm bands have attracted good sales.In the region, Jose Chameleone came up with the Chameleone phone but save for the hype, it has not grown to become a known brand.
