The senior men volleyball national team will start residential training on January 15 but before then, the team’s coach Paul Bitok has recommended players to start individual training to keep fit. Rwanda is preparing to compete in the final qualifying round for the FIVB Men’s World Championships, which will be held in Poland later this year.

Rwanda is preparing to compete in the final qualifying round for the FIVB Men’s World Championships, which will be held in Poland later this year.
Bitok said, "I am requesting all the players to start individual training, weight lifting and keeping their fitness levels high before January 25.”
Rwanda will face host Cameroon, Algeria, Nigeria and Gabon during their final round qualifying group tournament scheduled for late this month and early February. Other Easter Africa country, Kenya will meet the African champions and hosts Egypt, Botswana, Cape Verde and Zambia, while the other group to be hosted by Tunisia, has Seychelles, Congo Brazzaville, Niger and Senegal. Rwanda reached the last qualifiers after beating Kenya, Uganda and Burundi before losing to Egypt and finishing as the first runners-up in the FIVB-Africa Zone V championships played last year in Kigali at Amahoro Stadium.
The team is expected to play against three Tunisian top clubs namely; Esperance de Tunis, Etoile Sportif du Sahel and S-fax on the yet to be fixed dates.
