Our country’s success is derived from the sacrifices and patriotism of our soldiers and excellent leadership under President Paul Kagame. That the Commander-In-Chief of the armed forces is a patriotic and visionary leader cannot be overemphasised. He fought and won militarily and diplomatically to liberate the people of Rwanda from tyranny and brought to a halt the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Thanks to him, we have we built one of the strongest and most disciplined militaries on the continent.Long live to Our Command-In-Chief, the RDF and the Rwanda National Police leadership. Happy Holidays to you and all my countrymen.Benoit Kalisa, Côte d’Ivoire*******************I thank and appreciate Rwandans who express gratitude to their brothers and sisters who put their lives on the line to protect the people of Rwanda and their properties. The number one noble natural resource Rwanda has is its cohesive armed forces, the RDF. Thank you RDF; we Rwandans are behind you.Muganga, Kigali*******************May God bless our defence and police forces for their heroism and commitments the safety and security of country.Their selfless service, commitment and resilience is something we should all learn from.As citizens, we pledge to never give up and to join hands with you as we continue to focus on boosting our economy and developing our country in all aspects. We also pay tribute to our beloved servicemen and women who passed on while on duty, both at home and away; may their soul rest in peace.Happy New Year to all Rwandans.Jacques Kayigamba, KigaliReactions to President Kagame’s Season’s Greetings to Armed forces” (The New Times, December 28)
