Nicholas Musonye has tipped CAF/FIFA licensed Rwandan referee Hudu Munyemana to officiate at the 2010 World/Africa Cup finals.

The Cecafa Secretary General told Times Sport yesterday by telephone from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania that Hudu is among the best referees in the region and has the capacity to officiate at the World/Africa Cup finals set for South Africa and Angola respectively.

"Hudu was the best referee at the two-week long tournament,”Musonye said.

Musonye added that Hudu’s refereeing tactics will land him a call at the 2010 World/Africa Cup finals provided he officiates at other big tournaments.

Hudu was in charge of the final between Tusker and URA in Dar es Salaam.

The other five center referees were Thomas Onyango (Kenya), Charles Mbaga (Tanzania), Dennis Batte (Uganda), Bernard Habonimana (Burundi) and Abdi Abdulle (Somalia).

If Hudu gets the nod to officiate at the 2010 World and African Cup finals, he will be the second Rwandan referee to have reached that stage after Celestin Ntagungira a.k.a Abegga.

Ntagungira, 40 has been lined up for this year’s Olympic Games due in China next month.

Ntagungira was picked by the world’s football governing body, Fifa and will work alongside Evariste Menkouande (Cameroon) and centre referee Coffi Codjia (Benin).
