Nkubito appointed vice president of CAF refs body

Former Rwandan international referee Athanase Nkubito was recently appointed vice-president of Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) top referees’ body.He starts his duties in February 2014 at the CAF’s headquarters in Cairo, Egypt and will serve for four years.The 50-year old, who currently chairs the referees’ committee at the Rwanda football governing body (Ferwafa), was named to the CAF post after four months of training, tests and seminars conducted in different parts of the continent."It is a pleasure for me and Rwandan football. It’s a great honour to serve Africa’s football fraternity,” said Nkubito.
