The Rwanda Freight Forwarders Association (RWAFFA), an umbrella body that brings together clearing and forwarding agents in the country, Thursday contributed another Rwf15m to Agaciro Development Fund (AgDF), bringing their contribution to Rwf31 million.
They originally pledged Rwf 46 million and hope to clear the balance by March next year.
The Chairman of RWAFFA, Fred Seka, commended the government’s initiative and promised the association’s continuous support.
"We made this humble contribution so as to be part of the patriotic cause like other Rwandans,” he said.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Private Sector Federation (PSF), Hannington Namara, praised the organisation for setting a good example by making a move to support AgDF.
"Based on the excellent working relations we have with you, I am not surprised that you were able to put yourselves together and raise money for a nation building cause,” he told the freight forwarders. "I and your chairman will soon find time and hand this cheque to the Minister of Finance.”
