Editor,Those who blame China for producing what they call cheap products ignore the fact that it is us Africans who go for these items. They are brought to Africa by Africans due to demand, it’s a fact that these products match most Africans’ purchasing power.I recently visited the People’s Republic of China and went into different cities. What I saw is that China has divergent and diverse items, those for high-end consumers, the middle class, and poor clientele.In China there are T-shirts that go for US$500! So, we should not blame China for the cheap and "fake” items because there are always people out there waiting to buy them.
