RwandAir, the national carrier, has suspended flights to Juba, South Sudan, following a foiled coup against the government of President Salva Kiir on Sunday.

John Mirenge, CEO RwandAir, confirmed that flights to Juba have been suspended. "For safety reasons for all our stakeholders, we have suspended our flights [to Juba] until the situation is back to normal,” he told The New Times.

Tension has heightened in the world's youngest nation since the sacking of deputy president Riek Machar in July, this year.
