Rebecca Agiraneza, the 2013 Miss Rwanda Malaysia who was also recently crowned 2013 African Queen by the African Social Awards Malaysia (ASAM), spoke to Society Magazine’s Doreen Umutesi about her fashion sense. How would you describe your dress sense? The most important thing to me is to feel good in what I’m wearing. I always look for comfort in a classy form and I feel less is more. So basically, my dress sense is more into simplicity and detail. What’s your favourite clothing item? I think my favourite clothing item is shoes; I love shoes because regardless of what you are wearing, an edgy pair of heels usually complements the whole look.Where do you shop for clothes? I don’t really have a particular place that I go to. I will buy anything that looks good to me. What do you consider when shopping for clothes? I always consider something that catches my eyes immediately but also the material has to be flexible for my body. What is your favourite fashion accessory? I’m torn between a very good handbag and a very good pair of earrings; I think I’ll go with those two. They are my favourite. What is your favourite clothing item on a guy? I think a nice plain black or white shirt is classy enough on him. What’s your favourite scent? I love vanilla and floral scents because in regards to body lotions or perfumes, they are very calming and they smell so good and fresh. Any fashion advice? My fashion advice is to wear what suits your body and what’s comfortable for you and like I mentioned earlier, less is more and hence classier. You wouldn’t like to look like you tried so hard, just effortlessly cool.
