THE Under-19 cricket team could only settle for fourth position in this year’s Africa Cricket Championship which came to an end on Monday in Dar es salaam, Tanzania. The Rwandan team which was managed by Eric Ndangamyambi won one match, lost two and drew two to finish on four points tied with Kenya. Rwanda lost the opening match to Tanzania by 37 runs; lost to winners Uganda by 7 wickets; beat Kenya by 4 wickets and drew level against Botswana and Mozambique. Uganda retained the title after winning all their five matches to bag ten points while hosts Tanzania were runner-ups with six points after winning three matches and losing twice. Botswana and Mozambique finished fifth and sixth respectively tied on three points each.The championship which carried ranking points for Africa was recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
