Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are now parents of two. The singer secretly gave birth to their new baby boy on August 3 in Los Angeles. TMZ broke the news, and People confirmed that Rihanna gave birth again. The baby’s full name is not known, but TMZ was told by sources that it begins with an R like his big brother’s.
The couple, who welcomed their first child, older son RZA, in May 2022, have not yet commented on their new addition. Considering the fact that they kept RZA’s name a secret for about a year, it would not be surprising if they chose to keep their second son’s name under wraps for as long as possible, too.
Rihanna memorably announced her second pregnancy at the Super Bowl in February. She did not disclose at that point, how far along she was, but she did speak to British Vogue about her hope to have more children, and how she felt neutral about the baby’s sex.
"Listen, I’m down for whatever,” she said then. "My wish would be I would like to have more kids but whatever God wants for me, I’m here. I am open [to whatever baby gender next]. Girl, boy. Whatever.”
She added that Rocky wanted to know their first child’s sex. "He wanted a boy,” she said. "At first he was open, then he was like, ‘Nah, I want a boy, I’m sure.’ I was just like, ‘Lord, please let this man get what he wants...’”
At the Met Gala, Rihanna briefly spoke to Entertainment Tonight about how her second pregnancy was going. "It’s so different from the first one,” she said. "No cravings. Tons of nausea. Everything is different, but I am enjoying it. I feel good. I feel energetic.”
