Rwanda Premier League side Police FC have refused to let midfielder Muhadjiri Hakizimana move to Iraqi Premier League side Zakho FC despite the player agreeing a lucrative $70,000-a-year deal to join the club.

Times Sport can confirm that the deal was brokered by MAB Sports Agency and a direct contract was sent.

Muhadjiri is on an approximately $2,500-a-month salary at Police FC after he signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until June 2024.

The player wants to move to Zakho FC for one year and take the $70,000 (over Rwf80,1 million)of which he is ready to pay Police FC $25,000 (over Rwf30 million) that he would pocket throughout the season to let him go.

However, the law enforcers have no intention of letting him depart the club as they see him as one of the key players who can help them win the 2023/24 Rwanda Premier League title.
