DEFENDING champions Rayon Sports is set to avenge for the loss inflicted by Police in the Turbo King league’s first leg match when both sides clash today in the Ombudsman Cup due at Amahoro stadium.
The match between the two rival clubs is being held in an effort to promote the fight against corruption in the country. At the same event, journalists in print media and radios are set to play a friendly game.
Coach Didier Gomes da Rosa said yesterday, "We are ready for the match. This is a cup final and we are not taking it for granted. We want to win the game,”
His counterpart Sam Ssimbwa also hinted on his team’s urge to win the match. "We have been playing different friendly matches and I believe my players are in good shape for tomorrow (today)’s encounter,” he said.
This is the second time that both teams are meeting each other this season. In the first leg of the Turbo King Football league, Police beat the blues 2-1 two months ago at Amahoro stadium.
Organisers have spent seven million francs with the winner set to pocket 2.5 million Rwandan francs while the second will walk away with 1.5million Rwandan francs.
Last year, a similar anti-corruption campaign was organized by the Office of the Ombudsman in cycling but this year; the campaign has shifted to football.
