Most bachelors are wary of getting married out of fear that it will make them miserable and get in the way of their ambitions. But going by Tom Close’s experience, it should make you a better person and give you something to live for. "Getting married has transformed me into a better person. It has increased my desire to step up my hustle and do more now that I have more mouths to feed.  I now don’t hesitate to get up at sunrise; the stakes are high, I can’t afford to slacken or play second fiddle when I have a family.”Now that he is a family man, he will have to juggle between his day job as a medical doctor, his music career that has previously won him awards and being a husband. He hopes to see none suffer. "Music is part of what brings me money and what has made me whom I am; I can’t walk away from it or slacken. So far I have been handling my music career fine along with my day job. I plan to keep it that way.” He started on a high note as he has even put off his honey moon for a while to schedule performances over the festive season. "We saw it best to put off our honey moon for a while till early next year as I have performances lined up during this season. Later on we will go for our honeymoon in Dubai.” He says he plans to also show maturity musically and at the same time maintain his fan base. "I will make some changes to my music to portray maturity and still look out for the interests of my fans.”A lesson he has taken from the whole marriage experience (from planning to the big event) is that the wedding is not an album launch. "I learnt that at times people who came through to help you are those you least expected. I saw people go out of their way to put aside a whole week to help me prepare for the wedding. It has brought me closer to friends and family and taught me that they will always be there for me.”  The singer sends special gratitude to family, friends everyone who helped make the wedding special."Weddings are different from launches in that you have very little control over the event, once you are in a suit, power to control how things turn out is no longer in your hands. You have to delegate duties to people; you have to trust people. That, in itself, brings you closer to them,”said the singer.
