Fiona Mbabazi is a journalist and news anchor at TV 10. Many know she maintains a fashionable look on and off the screen. She spoke to Society Magazine’s Doreen Umutesi about her fashion sense. How would you describe your dress sense? I would say simple and chic. What’s your favourite clothing item? My boyfriend’s jacket is my favourite clothing item. It’s black and it practically goes with anything. Where do you shop for clothes? I shop around Kigali stores, especially around Euro designs and Mr Price. They have good stuff that is in fashion and you kind of don’t find them everywhere. It’s good to be unique at times. What do you consider when shopping for clothes? Anything I buy must be chic, trendy, fitting, and if it has a vintage touch to it that’s a plus. What is your favourite fashion accessory? I love my earrings. In every handbag I carry, I have some spare earrings just in case I forget to wear any. What is your favourite clothing item on a guy? Hmm, I would say shoes but the watch takes it away. The watch for me tells a lot about the guy. What’s your favourite scent? (She laughs) Hahaha, I have lots of favourites here, but I would say anything that is not too sweet and is a bit musky works for me.Any outfit you would like to be spotted in more often?I love the African print; I would go for my lessu and kitenge attires.Any fashion advice? A friend of mine likes to say, your clothes should be tight enough to show you’re a woman, and loose enough to show you’re a lady. But I would add; be yourself with whatever makes you comfortable. People invent fashion everyday, what’s yours?
