Did any foreign diplomat visit grenade attack victims?

Editor, I have a question: Did any of these foreign dignitaries [who attended the pre-trial] also care to attend the burials of the victims of grenade blasts that claimed innocent lives over the last few years, send survivors messages of condolence, or bother to visit them on their hospital beds?

Editor,

Refer to the story "Mutabazi pleads not guilty to terror charges” (The New Times, December 3).

I have a question: Did any of these foreign dignitaries [who attended the pre-trial] also care to attend the burials of the victims of grenade blasts that claimed innocent lives over the last few years, send survivors messages of condolence, or bother to visit them on their hospital beds?

Exactly what message do they think they are putting out to the wider Rwandan population? Do they realise that to many Rwandans, their presence in court at this particular trial could be interpreted to mean that the suspect – and the crimes he is charged with – is somehow linked to them in one way or another?
