FERWAFA HAS put the Rwanda women football team head coach position on market and says it is looking for an experienced coach to manage the team ahead of their engagement in the qualifiers of Africa Women championships due next year in Namibia.The position has been vacant since 2008. The team will face Kenya in the first round of the 2014 Caf Africa Women’s Championships scheduled to take place from February 13-15."We need a professional coach with at least Caf’s license C, with knowledge of Rwandan women football and able to speak at least two of the official national languages in the country,” Ferwafa said in a statement. Potential candidates are encouraged to send their applications to Ferwafa Secretariat not later than December 11. Both genders are eligible to apply. The women team is expected to go in camp before the end of the year. Rwanda will host Kenya in the first leg of the qualifiers on February 15 before heading to Nairobi for the return leg a fortnight later. The winner in the Kenya-Rwanda tie will take on the winner between Nigeria and Sierra Leone. A record 25 teams will take part in the qualifiers. This will be the first time Kenya will be fighting for a slot in the championships. The East African country has, however, previously taken part in junior women tournaments involving U-20 and under-17 categories.Other fixtures released by Caf are Algeria v Morocco, Egypt v Tunisia, Ethiopia v South Sudan, Burkina Faso v Ghana, Ivory Coast v Mali, Guinea Bissau v Senegal, Mozambique v Comoros, Botswana v Zimbabwe and Zambia v Tanzania.Defending champions Equatorial Guinea, first runners-up South Africa as well as bronze medalists Cameroon automatically proceed to the second round.
