The Saturday eviction show of Season 6 of Tusker Project Fame had two contestants shown the boot after bagging the least number of votes from East Africa. Rwanda’s Phionah Mbabazi and Uganda’s Derrick Kojjo were the latest to leave with only seven days left to the end of the sixth edition of the televised music show held in Nairobi, Kenya.Rwandans were disappointed by Phionah’s early departure, having counted on her to reach the finals. The songstress had been improving steadily and gaining confidence as the show progressed but now Rwanda’s hopes will be on Patrick Nyamitari. The grand finale is slated for Sunday, where the winner will be handed a cash prize of Kshs5m (About Rwf35m). All the remaining contestants will go into the finale. They are Patrick, Hisia, Daisy, Nyambura, Hope, Amos & Josh. The Saturday eviction show was quite different from the previous ones where the contestants have to re-do the rendition that had put them on probation. This time round, contestants were given a chance to perform their favourite songs. Rwanda’s Patrick took the stage first with Eric Wainaina rendition ‘Nchi ya kitu kidogo’, he gave it his all and it was quite a good performance. Next on stage was Kojjo, Hope and Phionah who did Maurice Kirya’s ‘Mulembe gwa Kirya’ in a performance which many people took to Twitter and Facebook to appreciate despite a microphone glitch that almost spoilt things.Next on stage was Nyambura and Daisy performing Kenny Rodgers rendition of ‘Something inside so strong’ It was an amazing performance to sum it up. Nyambura stated that she felt great performing with the Ugandan lady with vocals, Daisy. It was time for the electric duo Amos and Josh to take the stage, performing to their favourite song ‘Deadly’ by Nameless which they did justice. The song is termed the ‘TPF Nameless curse’ with most of the contestants performing it getting the boot but if it is anything to go by, Amos and Josh nailed it. It was the second time to do the song and according to Judge Ian, the first edition was not the best.It was fun as all contestants took to  the stage to do ‘Blurred lines’ by Robin Thicke, a rendition that Hisia from Tanzania performed last Sunday, the Tanzania lad gave it his best shot. Then the dreaded moment came. Someone, or two, had to go home despite the wonderful performances by all contestants. That someone turned out to be Rwanda’s Phionah and Uganda’s Kojjo who were shown the exit. Many followers of the show took to Twitter and Facebook to express their frustration but as many would agree, it’s a competition and some people have to leave if they can’t give it their best.Of course sometimes the outcome is not fair but the judge’s decision is final. This now means Rwanda is counting on Patrick Nyamitari. You better take to your phones and vote if Rwanda has to stand a chance and for Patrick to bring the money home.
