Kenya volleyball national team won their first game in the Zone V World Championships qualifiers to keep alive their hope of qualifying for the last round. They beat Uganda 3-0 in a match played yesterday at Amahoro indoor stadium.Kenya, which lost the first two games to African champion Egypt and host Rwanda, overcame neighbours Uganda 3-0 (25-23, 25-23 and 25-18). Uganda, who have one win over Burundi, lost to Egypt and still have one game to play against Rwanda today. Rwanda has already qualified.Egypt finished unbeaten after beating Burundi 3-0 (25-16, 25-14 and 25-17) on Friday. It was the third loss for Burundi, which also lost to Egypt and Rwanda. Burundi will play the last game against Kenya today.Uganda will be looking for an impressive win over Rwanda and hope that Burundi can surprise Kanya in order to have a chance of joining the hosts (Rwanda) and Egypt into the final round.If Rwanda manages to beat Uganda, it will go to play with host Cameroon, Algeria, Nigeria and Gabon.Kenya will be looking for the second win against Burundi and could go to play with Egypt, Zone 2 runners-up, Botswana and Zambia. Kenya will be playing Burundi, which lost three games to Rwanda, Uganda and Egypt respectively.
