Over 5,338 Rwandans who were early this year evicted from Tanzania are set to be resettled in various parts of the country, government has announced.Seraphine Mukantabana, the minister for disaster management and refugee affairs (Midimar), announced this on Thursday at a news briefing in Kigali.Out of the 13,489 Rwandans received since August this year, 8151 have so far been re-united with their families but the rest are still living in Kiyanzi and Rukara camps. The minister said the plan is to resettle the evictees in ten selected districts of the country."We cannot look on as our kinsmen languish in camps. It is our duty to ensure that they are resettled,” she said.Mukantabana said efforts are underway to see that the evictees who lost property in Tanzania are compensated by the Tanzanian government."Each of them will not only be given resettlement packages like clothes and farming tools, but will also be equipped with skills,” she said.
