My perfect weekend: Natty Dread

Natty Dread is among Africa’s most celebrated reggae artists. I believe in spending weekends in style. And for that matter, I hardly miss out weekends, unless when I have a concert, or have to prepare for one.

Natty Dread is among Africa’s most celebrated reggae artists. I believe in spending weekends in style. And for that matter, I hardly miss out weekends, unless when I have a concert, or have to prepare for one.

My perfect weekends consist of relaxation, eating delicious food in good company, and finding utter harmony amongst my children and friends.

My idea of a perfect weekend would be spent with my family in a cool place. I like relaxing on the beach and enjoy wandering down the shore, throwing stones in the water.

Although I love the beach, I hate swimming. I want to avoid exposing my nakedness in public, because according to African traditional culture, the act is considered immoral.

Probably like many, my weekends usually begin on Friday evening. I go home and decide with my family what we should do.

I’m not a fan of nightclubs but I must admit that can be attempted to stay out late if they’re playing nice reggae.

On weekends, I normally wake up later and enjoy a heavy breakfast of eggs, bread, tea and juice. Last weekend was perfect for my family and we escaped Kigali and hit Gisenyi to enjoy a different pace of life.
