Let Rwandans forget about this cancer of "ethnicity”. Let us abolish this devil from our minds.Francois Ndwaniye, Kigali*****************************Dear Ndwaniye,I understand where you are coming from and do agree with the need for Rwandans to overcome the largely self-inflicted ills of "ethnicity”. But rather than just forget, which only leaves the wound to festering deep under the scar and therefore making it even more dangerous to the host, let’s confront our demons head on, and vanquish them. The "Ndi Umunyarwanda” initiative is, in this regard, an excellent way to heal our collective national trauma. We should all support it and commend MP Bamporiki and his colleagues in the YouthConnektDialogue for its conception and for having had the energy and political acumen to bring it to the centre of our national conversation.Rwandans, once again, are showing that we have the traditions, the requisite intellect and strength of depth of character and will to find solutions from within ourselves for our own maladies.Mwene Kalinda, KigaliReactions to the story, "Ndi Umunyarwanda taken to grassroots” (The New Times, November 27)
