One World Futbol Project, a non-profit organisation has donated over 34,000 balls to over 2500 primary and 1500 secondary schools as a way of promoting football in the country.
According to the chairman of Rwanda Schools Sports Association, Father Innocent Gatete, each school received four balls.
He said, "We are trying to promote the sport and helping as many school kids as possible across the country to play football. Football is a universal sport.”
Meanwhile, the Rwanda Schools Sports Association last week concluded a training camp of over 1500 U-15 school children, who play Basketball, Volleyball, Handball and Netball (boys and girls).
The holiday camp, which lasted two weeks was held at Save Secondary School in the Southern Province (volleyball, netball and basketball), while Byimana Secondary School hosted the football camp.
