U19 girls’ cricket team gets boost

MITSUMI DISTRIBUTION Rwanda Ltd has boosted the U-19 Girls’ team going to participate in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Africa U19 Girls T20 tournament which will take place from December 7 to 9 in Dar es Salaam.

MITSUMI DISTRIBUTION Rwanda Ltd has boosted the U-19 Girls’ team going to participate in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Africa U19 Girls T20 tournament which will take place from December 7 to 9 in Dar es Salaam. The company has contributed Rwf 1m towards making the team’s trip to Tanzania a success.The Mitsumi Distribution Managing Director Mihir Solanki said, "Our support to the game of cricket is in line with the company’s corporate social responsibility towards sports.” He added that, "It is important to support young players who will make a lasting impact on the game in the future.”On her part, team captain Cathia Uwamahoro said, "We have had the best preparation ever, so we hope to finish in a better position than last year.”This will be the third time Rwanda is participating in this tournament. Last year the girls came fourth out of six countries.This year’s tournament will attract six countries including; Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, host Tanzania, Botswana and Mozambique.
