Ecobank Group CEO visits Rwanda

On August 18, Jeremy Awori, the CEO of Ecobank Transnational Group, paid a visit to Ecobank Rwanda Plc and engaged in productive discussions with the employees. The visit took place during a period of strong performance for Ecobank Rwanda Plc, which was founded in 2007.

Ecobank Rwanda Plc is licensed and supervised by the National Bank of Rwanda. In recognition of its exceptional services, Ecobank Rwanda Plc was awarded the prestigious title of 'Best Trade Finance Provider 2023' in March 2023.

After holding discussions with Ecobank Rwanda staff, Awori also paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of the Central Bank, John Rwangombwa.

They engaged in discussions that included paving the way for innovative growth in the Rwandan banking landscape.

In a previous interview with Business Daily when Awori was appointed as Group CEO of Ecobank Transnational, he said: "Ecobank is a unique brand whose purpose is to drive the African continent's economic growth and regional integration.

"Leading this Group, with a presence in 35 African countries and more than 14,000 people from 43 nationalities, is a great opportunity.”

He said that refinancing maturing bonds is part and parcel of being a multinational corporate and a pan-African bank.

"In countries where we don’t have a leadership position, we are reviewing our competitive strategies. Our aim is to grow and transform these businesses,” he said.
