Editor,Refer to the article, "Security Council failed Kenya and Africa – Rwanda envoy” (Sunday Times, November 17).Did anyone really think the West would do anything to undercut their instrument of African control? Why would they put any obstacles in its way when it is doing the work they have tasked it with, i.e. keep uppity Africans in their place? No, Africans themselves are to blame by continuing to belong to a body they have zero influence on and which has become a very potent lever of control in the hands of their colonisers that they have turned against African leaders they consider insufficiently submissive. Those Africans who have yet to learn that lesson deserve every humiliation that will be meted out to them through this pseudo court. The Masters of the Universe have taken good measure of Africa’s importance in world affairs and have rightly concluded it doesn’t amount to a bushel of beans. Some Africans will continue to criticise the ICC and the UN Security Council, but the majority can be expected to fall in line now that they have made their pro-forma protestations. And thus goes Africa.Mwene Kalinda, Kigali
