Impinyuza to stage play at Serena Hotel

A traditional play called- Gira Ubuntu will be staged at Kigali Serena Hotel on Sunday. Headlining the play will be the Impinyuza cultural troupe.

A traditional play called- Gira Ubuntu will be staged at Kigali Serena Hotel on Sunday. Headlining the play will be the Impinyuza cultural troupe. 

The show begins at 6p.m and ends at 8p.m. 

According to Marie Alice Bazirete, the chairperson of Impinyuza cultural troupe, they developed the idea of the script based a previous version of the same play that was acted in the 80’s. "People no longer care about each other, the community has given up on its role of raising children,” said Bazirete.

Other highlights of the evening will include traditional music performances by the troupe. 

Bazirete said the show aims to remind Rwandans of their role in grooming children who are tomorrow’s future, while preserving the country’s culture. 

Entrance fee is Rwf5,000 in the ordinary  and Rwf10,000 in the VIP section.
