Burundian star rocks Musanze residents

HUNDREDS of concertgoers in Musanze District were treated to a thrilling show by Burundian artiste Mugani Desire aka Farious, last weekend.  In a concert dubbed- Ndakumisinze, Farious proved that he is still a household name both in Burundi and Rwanda as his fans screamed and danced along throughout his show. The concert was held at Harmonica bar and it started at 8pm.The France-based Burundian singer executed excellent vocals. The crowd cheered on and clapped.The Munyana star belted out a collection of songs including his trademark hits Leave me alone, Niwonyemera, Ndakumisinze and Akabaju.From the first song to the last, people chanted and waved, as the music blared out of the speakers. Some people even abandoned their seats and joined the artiste on stage.To say Farious gave his all is an understatement.The concert also featured local musicians such as Frankay, Young Hustler, Baat CM and Social. Their performance was full of energy and life as they curtain raised for the big show."I am very happy to meet Farious physically. I had seen him a couple of times on TV and I had always craved to see him face to face,” Gisele Uwase, one of the female fans said."I am extremely excited! He is a great performer and I love his music. Generally, the concert was great and all the artistes delivered a great performance. We need more of such concerts in Musanze,” she added. Speaking to The New Times after the concert, Farious said he was happy to be in Rwanda, especially in Musanze where he had a great moment.He has been in Rwanda for three weeks, where he performed at the annual Burundi Night. He also recorded songs with some local artistes.
