Food and commodity prices were stable over the past few days in the City of Kigali. A kilogramme of sugar costs between Rwf650 and Rwf800 in all the major markets and shops around the city, bread goes for Rwf1100 (one kilogramme), while rice costs Rwf700. Millet flour costs Rwf1,220 per kilogramme, while maize flour goes for Rwf670 a kilo in Nyarugenge and Kimironko markets.  Irish potatoes cost between Rwf180 and Rwf200 in Nyabugogo, Nyamirambo and Rugando markets.   Tomatoes cost Rwf700 per kilogramme and that of carrots is at Rwf500. Groundnut paste is at Rwf1,200 per kilo and fresh peas go for Rwf1,100 a kilogramme in Nyabugogo market.Beef costs between Rwf2,000 and Rwf2,300 in Giporoso and Kicukiro, respectively.Six grammes of laundry soap cost Rwf600, a litre of cooking oil is at Rwf1,500 and passion fruits cost between Rwf1,300 and Rwf1, 400 a kilogramme. A litre of milk goes for Rwf400, while a tray of eggs cost Rwf2,500.
