Editor,This is with reference to Robert Bake Tumuhaise’s commentary, "Learn how to survive” (Sunday Times, November 10).It is a fact that today there are so many young, qualified Rwandans who are either unemployed or underemployed. Please allow me to share, with your esteemed readers, that we [Indian Merchants] have invited the first batch of 14 students and two faculty members from the Kigali Institute of Management (Kim) to come to Mumbai for a period of two weeks in January 2014 and undergo intensive classroom training at an institute affiliated to the University of Mumbai.More importantly, Kim students will also be placed in different industries for practical, on-the-job training. We do believe that this initiative will avail the students with some international exposure that will enable them not only to survive, but rather to excel in their future careers.Once this pilot project succeeds, we do look forward to widening and extending it to as many Rwandan students in their quest for excellence.Clarence Fernandes, Mumbai India
