Editor,Rwandans need to dedicate themselves to the Ndi Umunyarwanda initiative, which is being spearheaded by our top leadership for the good of the current and future generations.Ndi Umunyarwanda is an opportunity for us all to openly take stock of what went wrong before and during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, and how best we can come to terms with our shared terrible history to shape a common bright future.Even as ours is a dark history, we have the opportunity to draw lessons that can help us build a strong, united nation, through this open, truth-telling initiative that is being spearheaded by our leaders.I would like to beseech every Rwandan to embrace this noble initiative and participate wholly to make it a success; those who need forgiveness should ask for it with sincerity; and I request Genocide survivors to forgive those who wronged them and the nation in order to promote genuine unity and reconciliation. All this should help us to, together, deliver the economic transformation our country aspires for and deserves. Let’s continue building our country with dignity, patriotism, security and the peace that we all need.We are one people, one nation; together we can.Jacques Kayigamba, Kigali**********************I wholeheartedly welcome and support the Ndi Umunyarwanda initiative. May all Rwandans embrace it, support it and forever bury the hatchet of hatred. If we cannot live harmoniously together in Rwanda and on Earth, how can we live together in heaven which everyone looks forward to? May God’s vision continue to guide our leaders at all levels to build a better Rwanda for all Rwandans and foreigners.Samuel Ntawiniga,United StatesReference is made to the related articles, "Rwanda’s top leadership in Ndi Umunyarwanda retreat”, (The New Times, November 9), and "Past lessons must form base for our future, says Kagame”, (Sunday Times, November 10)
