The sport that received official recognition Rwanda than three years ago, is fast spreading throughout the country. This year’s edition with will be the third national championships. Rwandan is first in the East African region, sixth in Africa and among the top 40 in the world.
The two-day tournament was initially scheduled to be held last weekend was called off after the proposed venue (Amahoro indoor stadium) had been booked for other national events involving the First Lady.
According to the local Taekwondo governing body Secretary General Placid Bagabo, the event will now be held on November 24-25.
"We are expecting a better tournament in terms of organization and competitiveness than the two last editions,” he told Sunday Sport yesterday.
